Annual Title I Parent Meeting

Schools with large concentrations of low-income students receive supplemental funds to assist in meeting students’ educational goals. The number of students enrolled in the free and reduced lunch program (FRLP) determines whether a school is considered “low-income”. At least 40% of students must enroll in the FRLP for the entire school to qualify to receive Title I funds.

Parents have the right to request information regarding the qualifications of all of the teachers and paraprofessionals who work with their children. All of the teachers and parapros at CES ARE professionally qualified!

Parent involvement is essential in the Title I program. Parents, teachers, and students make a commitment to support student success in the School-Parent Compact for Achievement. Resources from the Parent Resource Center Communication between teachers and parents is a very important part of the Title I program. (Conferences, newsletters, phone calls, Class DoJo, emails, Social Media, School Website, & School Council)

Our students have met the achievement standards set by the state guidelines.  As a result, our school has NOT been identified as a Priority, Focus, or Alert school.

We teach from the Georgia Standards and the Georgia Standards of Excellence (GSE). We also use other frameworks and programs that help support these standards, to meet the needs of our students, such as:

4th Grade takes the COGAT.

English Language Learners take the ACCESS test.

Kindergarten through 5th grade take the Map Reading and Math Growth  test three times a year.   K through 3rd grade will take the Amira Dyslexia Screener three times a year.

Some special education students will take the GAA in the spring.

3rd-5th take the Georgia Milestones at the end of the year.
